Upham Hall
University of Wisconsin - Whitewater

Completed in 1962 but extensively remodeled in 2004, Upham Hall is used mainly by the biology, chemistry and physics departments at UW-Whitewater.

Lewis Sound & Video install new AV systems in a large lab/lecture hall and four classrooms. The largest system, in Room 142E, includes:

  • Side by side Sanyo multimedia projectors used to show closeup images of lab demonstrations plus computer information and simulations.
  • Two Sony 3-chip pan-tilt-zoom cameras used for lab demonstrations. Each can zoom in on a chemistry experiment or biology demo to show detailed close up images to the class.
  • A ceiling-mounted Sony 3-chip camera aimed directly down on the demonstration table.
  • An Elmo document camera.
  • Two wireless lavaliers plus handheld, podium and hanging microphones.
  • Windows and Macintosh computers built into the podium.
  • A laptop input for the instructor.
  • Crestron touchpanel controls of cameras, projectors, DVD player, and room lighting.
  • Sanyo's PJ Net Organizer system to allow maintenance and support of all Upham Hall projectors via the building's computer network.

Read about other AV systems we installed on the UW-Whitewater campus at Heide Hall, the Young Auditorium, and the Williams Athletic Center.

The podium has Windows and Mac PCs, laptop input, doc camera, mic & Crestron touchpanel.

Each projector includes a network interface used for maintenance and support.

DVD players and wireless mic receivers are found in a handy rack built into the podium.
